FAQs
Q: How do I know which level to register for?
A:Please see the "class levels" tab. If your child can do the skills listed in a certain level, then they can move to the next level. For example, if you child can do all the skills listed under Level 2, then your child can be in Level 3. If your child is working on those skills but has not yet mastered them, then they can enroll in that level.
Q: Do you offer trial lesons? May I come see the facilities and observe lessons?
A: Yes! Call the office at (650) 349-7946 to schedule a trial class for any new swimmer. We welcome visitors during any of our class times to come and observe lessons. Check with the office for schedule. Payment of $19.75 holds your spot for the trial class.
Q: How will I know what date to start the class?
A: Register for any open class the week you would like to start. The swimmer starts the week you sign them up! If you're not ready to start now, check availability when you are ready to begin.
Q: When will I be billed?
A: At KSA, you prepay for lessons. Tuition payment must be received for registration fee & tuition at the time of enrollment. Payment reserves your space in the class. Your first month's tuition will be pro-rated according to how many lessons are left in the calendar month. From then on, monthly tuition is automatically deducted from your debit or credit card on the 1st of each month. There is an annual membership fee of $30 that is due at the time of registration. This fee is automatically charged to your account on the 1st day of your membership renewal month so long as you have a student enrolled in swim lessons here at KSA ($15 for second child, any additional students: no charge). Accounts can be set up to receive either Visa, Mastercard, debit card, or EFT (direct bank account) payments.
Q: Can I choose a specific instructor?
A: We can not guarantee an instructor. All of our quality instructors teach swimming skills in a fun, safe environment.
Q: Do you offer make up classes?
A: KSA students are eligible to receive a make up lesson for one absence per month provided the office is notified in advance of the absence. The make up lesson must be scheduled within 60 days of the absence or it is forfeited. No make ups for missed make up classes. Instructors, privates, and times are not guaranteed for make up lessons. All make ups are in group lessons. All make ups are scheduled by phone with the office staff.
Q: What if we decide to withdraw from swim lessons?
A: We need to be informed (by email with an email confirmation from KSA or by written notice at the swim school) of your decision to withdraw from lessons on or before your last class of the month.
Q: What if I forget to withdraw and my card is charged the following month?
A: Unfortunately we do not offer refunds after the month is charged, so please withdraw on time.
Q: What days are you closed?
A: KSA is closed every Sunday and the following holidays:
New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. If your lessons fall on any of these holidays, you will not be billed for this day.
Q: What is your diaper policy?
A: Any child under 3 years of age (and any child who is not yet potty trained) must wear a double swim diaper. What does this mean? Wearing a disposable swim diaper with a snug fitting resuable swim diaper over it. Bathing suits do not comply with this requirement. Reusable or washable swim diapers are available for purchase from the KSA office if needed.
Q: Do you offer family swim time?
A: We encourage families to swim together at nearby recreational pool facilities. For liability reasons, we are not able to offer this at this time. We are looking into for the future though!
